Adult Ensembles
St. Cecilia’s School of Music provides a life-enriching opportunity for adult amateur musicians of varying abilities to enjoy the experience of making music in an ensemble setting. There is a place for everyone, even those who have never played an instrument before. Ensembles perform concerts at least twice each season in Royce Auditorium. Register by calling the education office at 616.459.2224.
$250 Per Year / $127 Per Semester (1 Student)
Fall Semester – Starts September 13, 2010. Winter Semester – Starts January 3, 2011

St. Cecilia Grand Band

This band for adults of various skill levels encourage students to explore their musical talents and experience the joy of making music. The band performs a variety of music including classical, Broadway and pop.
Conductor Chris Hansen, Rehearsal Mondays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
St. Cecilia Grand String Orchestra

The St. Cecilia Grand String Orchestra welcomes violin, viola, cello and double bass players from near-beginner to intermediate level. The emphasis is on having fun and learning classical and popular music together in an informal and non-competitive atmosphere. While the group will focus on ensemble skills and on developing general musical and string skills, it is also and opportunity to meet other adult string players and make some great music.

ST. CECILIA ADULT SUMMER BAND CAMP
June 14-17 – Monday-Thursday.
Conductor Chris Hansen, Rehearsal, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
TUITION: $40 (includes a catered lunch on Thursday)
Director Chris Hansen will lead the group in some great band favorites to prepare for an outdoor concert Thursday afternoon at Rosa Parks Circle.
This week will offer a relaxed and social atmosphere with director Chris Hansen leading the group in some great band favorites. The group will play through much music on the first day in order to choose a few specific pieces to prepare for their grand finale performance on Thursday afternoon at Rosa Parks Circle, which will be free and open to the public. From there, the group will return to St. Cecilia Music Center for a catered celebration lunch.
