How to Register for Youth and Adult Programs
  1. Complete one registration form for each student. Forms are required for all students whether they are new or returning. Students may register for multiple activities on a single form. If you are registering more than one student, call the education office at 616.459.2224
  2. Enclose full tuition payment or a non-refundable $25 tuition deposit for each student.
  3. Return by mail, e-mail (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) or in person to St. Cecilia Music Center School of Music.

Required Auditions

Youth ensemble placement auditions are held in June, September and January by appointment and are required for all youth ensemble students, new and returning (if they would like to move up to next orchestra). To schedule an audition, call the education office at 616.459.2224. After the start of each semester, and if space allows, late applicants may audition by special appointment. Tuition for latecomers will be prorated.

Early Registration for Returing Students

Early registration for the fall semester begins in August. If the previous season’s tuition has not been paid in full by August 31, 2010, students must make arrangement with the education director before registration for the new semester can be completed.

Payment

Check made out to SCMC, cash, money order, Visa, Mastercard or Discover are accepted. A $10 fee will be charged for returned checks. Payment plans may be arranged through the education director.

Fundraising Projects

Youth ensemble students may participate in a variety of fundraisers during the year to help offset tuition expenses.

Financial Aid

Limited finiancial aid is available to adult and youth students who demonstrate a need. To apply please check the appropriate space on the registration form and return the form to the education office with the required $25 deposit. SCMC reserves the right to discontinue any financial aid award because of frequent absenses or tardiness, or because of delinquent payments.

Youth and Adult Ensemble Drop and Refund Policy

Students dropping the program before the mid-semester deadline (fall, November 15, 2010; spring, March 15, 2011) will receive a 50 percent refund for that semester. Students dropping after mid-semester will not receive a refund. A drop form must be received by the deadline or the full tuition will be due. Call the education office at 616.459.2224 to obtain a drop or download a STUDENT DROP FORM.
